All About Lakes

Who We Are

Our mission is to inspire people to love and care for lakes. This website was conceived as a tool to fulfill that mission. Our goal is to build an authoritative online resource about everything related to lakes. We aspire to use our knowledge about lakes and marketing to reach people with a message of lake stewardship. We believe that the approaches used to market the latest cars, clothing, and electronics can be leveraged to share a message of environmental stewardship. Our team is equally well versed in both lake science and digital marketing. Together, we believe these tools, when working together, can inspire more people to love and care for lakes.

There are three main objectives of our efforts:

Learn

“Any fool can know. The point is to understand.”

— Albert Einstein

We believe that caring about something begins with understanding it. With that in mind, we strive to share content and information that will answer your questions and expand your understanding of lakes. At the same time, we are always learning more about lakes and are excited to share that knowledge. Our team members include highly qualified research scientists in the field of limnology or the study of lakes. They love sharing their knowledge and have the answers to your questions.

Fun fact: Did you know that Einstein loved lakes? He had a passion for sailing and regularly summered in Saranac Lake and could be found sailing the waters of Lower Saranac Lake.

Discover

In many ways, learning is discovering. The excitement of discovering a new place or a deeper understanding of the world is intoxicating. We strive to facilitate discovery by building a database of information and resources about lakes around the world.

Our database is small but growing. Each new lake added is a new opportunity to discover the wonder lakes have to offer.

Enjoy

If caring about something begins with understanding, it is solidified through enjoyment and experience. We share content that helps you enjoy the lakes you love. This content is also designed to intercept people that may enjoy lakes, then help guide them toward a path of stewardship. Maybe you are searching the internet for the best place to go paddling in New York or which cooler is best for a day out on your boat, if that search brings you to All About Lakes you’ll also encounter information about lake stewardship.
